Dead Man Walking
Ephesians 2:1-3
Summary: Let me ask a question to get us thinking about today's sermon: what can a dead person do? If you said NOTHING you'd be right! A person who is dead can't bring themselves back to life, they can't do anything at all. Today in our passage Paul tells us that before Jesus saves us we are all spiritually dead. And that means there is nothing we can do to save ourselves - God must do it! Let's think about it:
Apart from Christ, sin darkens every part of us:
1. We are spiritually dead
2. We follow Satan and his ways
3. We live out sinful desires
4. Our only hope: the mercy of God
