Exodus 12:12; Ephesians 6:1-4; Colossians 3:20-21
Summary: Last week we started to talk about the fifth commandment - to honor our Mom and Dad. Today let's think about it more from Paul's words in Ephesians 6. Today we'll see a VERY important truth that helps us obey: we are to obey them in the Lord. What does that mean? We'll find out that when we obey Mom and Dad we are obeying God too! It's an act of love and worship to God when we keep the fifth commandment. Let's think about it more:
1. The command: obey your parents
2. The manner: In the Lord
3. The motivation: It is right
4. The encouragement: the role of a godly Father
Verse: Colossians 3:20 Children, obey your parents in everything, for this pleases the Lord.
