As God's people we, the church have been given:
1. A new status: God called us out of the world to be set apart for Him
2. A new hope: God has called us out of darkness into His marvelous light
3. A great mercy: Our new status is not based on our merit
4. A great mission: This should move us to proclaim His greatness to the world
