Do You Want to Be Healed? John 5:1-17 Summary: Today we start our new year by looking at the great power and love of Jesus. Jesus heals a man who has been unable to walk for 38 years! Can you imagine not being able to use your legs for such a long time? Jesus heals this man and shows us something more about how we need to trust Him in our own helplessness. Let’s think about it: Jesus came for those who are helpless Jesus’ question: do you want to be healed? The man’s answer reveals his hopelessness and our need Unless Jesus acts, we will not be saved Jesus saving power creates servants and enemies Jesus gives a radical command for those who’ve been radically saved Verse: John 5:8 Jesus said to him, “Get up, take up your bed, and walk.”
