Why Have You Forsaken Me?
Psalm 22
Take a moment to think of the last time you were struggling - maybe you were sick or sad about something. Did it feel then like God had left you or wasn’t hearing your prayers? All of us feel this way at times. Even Jesus on the cross cried out “My God my God, why have you forsaken me?” Today we will look at Psalm 22 which is where Jesus quoted from when he cried out those words on the cross. Jesus understands what it means to suffer and He can be your comfort in your hard times as well. Let’s think about how the Gospel changes everything when we are discouraged:
1. The experience of darkness: Jesus knows your suffering
2. The hope of deliverance: Jesus’ victory is yours also
Verse: Psalm 22:27 All the ends of the earth shall remember and turn to the Lord, and all the families of the nations shall worship before you.
